Expansion of Education Criteria
On February 22, 2018 the Michener Institute of Education at UHN launched phase one of the Personal Support Worker (PSW) Registry of Ontario (“Registry”). The initial phase of the Registry began with PSW graduates from an Ontario College of Applied Arts and Technology (CAAT or “community college”) or a Private Career College (PCC) who graduated from a program that incorporated the 2014 PSW Program Standard.
As the Registry expands, registration will continue to occur in phases to allow the Registry to test and refine its operations as needed. The Registry is committed to expanding the current education requirements to include the remaining college graduates, graduates from other education sectors (e.g. Adult and Continuing Education School Board Programs), and additional admission processes such as grandparenting.
At this time, the Registry is pleased to announce that the education criteria has expanded for CAAT graduates – for full details please see our Education Requirements and Alternative Assessment Policy. The Registry is also currently working to expand the education requirements for the PCC sector and include graduates from an Adult and Continuing Education Schoolboard program. Please continue to refer to our website for updates or email the Registry at email@example.com to join our subscription list for the latest updates and announcements.
