Welcome to the Personal Support Worker Registry of Ontario
Personal Support Workers (PSWs) are one of the largest groups in Ontario’s health workforce which provide frontline care services to some of the province's most vulnerable citizens.
On behalf of the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC), the Michener Institute is developing a Personal Support Worker (PSW) Registry. PSWs on the Registry have been verified to meet the Registry's qualifications to provide safe and competent health care services to the people of Ontario.
The PSW Registry is an alternative oversight framework for Personal Support Workers (PSWs) that serves to protect the public's interest in the delivery of safe and competent health care in Ontario.
Create an innovative, alternative model and approach to the oversight of Personal Support Workers, elevating their profile and contribution to the interprofessional health care team.
About the RegistryThe Registry recognizes PSWs as trusted and skilled partners in Ontario’s health care system. It elevates the profile of PSWs, and helps bring them in line with other health care workers in Ontario, whose background information is accessible through an online database. It is a source to verify a PSW’s credentials, conduct, and competence. Employers may refer to it to fill vacancies. This Registry has no affiliation with the previous PSW registry, which was closed in 2016. Join the Registry
